New Work – December 2009

BĂȘtes Sauvages, 2009, acrylic and gouache on paper mounted to panel, 8 x 10 inches

Recently I’ve been sharing my studio with the lovely Mackenzie Peck, who inspired this piece with her “What Shall I Paint” game. In this case it was ‘a forest at night with a wild animal of your choosing’. Perhaps my interpretation is literal, but it was fun to make. These repeated, staccato brushstrokes keep appearing in my work lately. And paper mounted to panel (in advance– we must learn lessons from the destroyed Pedestal Heads) turns out to be a support I like. More of that coming soon, too.
